I Am The Music Man

Whakamaru School had a visit from Edgewater College band. The music and all the instruments they played were very interesting. Room 5 decided they would like to make instruments and play in their own band. We got some ideas from the internet and made guitars, a trombone, panpipes, a xylophone, drums and shakers. We practised our band item and presented it to the school at assembly. You can watch the video of our band item.

Our Umbrella Challenge

Last week when we did Uppy Umbrella for our Letterland Letter, we made umbrella out of newspaper, glue and cellotape.  This is what they looked like.

It didn't rain last week for us to test our umbrellas so we finished them off today and guess what?

It rained today! Now we can test them.

We stood out in the rain for one minute.  All our umbrellas kept us dry.

Introducing Room 5

Kia ora koutou.  We are a Year 0 to 2 class at Whakamaru School.  We are a country school located in the Central North Island on the Waikato river right next to the Whakamaru Dam.  Yogi Bear was filmed here.
