Our Umbrella Challenge

Last week when we did Uppy Umbrella for our Letterland Letter, we made umbrella out of newspaper, glue and cellotape.  This is what they looked like.




It didn't rain last week for us to test our umbrellas so we finished them off today and guess what?

It rained today! Now we can test them.

We stood out in the rain for one minute.  All our umbrellas kept us dry.

    Wow Room 1! Your Uppy Umbrellas look great. Just as well it rained today so you could try them out. Did they work? Would you make them differently next time? What would you change?
    I hope you didn't get too wet. Did Miss Whatarau get wet?

      Yes our umbrellas did work. Larni, Lj, Lana, Cooper, Kharleen,Addison, Korah-Lee,And Izaliyah said they would make changes to their umbrellas..Larni, Kharleen and Korah-Lee said they would make an umbrella like Ms Whatarau's with the fan shape. Cooper and Lana said they would do patterns on theirs, Addison wants to paint hers. Ms Whatarau didn't get wet either because she had her umbrella too.

      Yes we had lots of fun and we did a lot of thinking and solving problems and working out.

      Ljl measured the stick to make sure it was the right length and Rachel measured the umbrella so it was even.
